Enhanced Email Service:

Visual Link has partnered with Google to offer our customers enhanced email services, including 6GB of email  storage and better basic spam blocking.  Starting in the first week of June 2008, all customers will be upgraded to this email service at no extra cost.  You will also notice an updated web mail service with new features. This is part of the new enhanced email service.  The spam filtering included in the new email system works very well  and removes about 80% of Spam from your email.  We will, of course, still offer the Postini spam filtering service and together these two systems dramatically reduce the amount of spam and protect you from viruses.

We will have both old and new email services running at the same time during our transition to the new service. In order to provide a more secure email environment, Google requires that all email passwords must be at least 6 characters in length. This will affect some of our customers with shorter passwords. If your email password is less than 6 characters, you will need to call our office (M-F 9am - 5pm) to change your password before accessing the new service however, the original email service will still be available to you until the transition is complete.

Wireless Broadband Update:

Visual Link Internet has been adding new towers to our wireless network.   We are focusing our broadband deployments to providing broadband to all of our current dial-up customers.  These new deployments will dramatically increasing our wireless Internet coverage.  Starting in June we hope to be able to provide wireless service to both northern Frederick County and Loudoun County, Virginia.  We will also be expanding our wireless coverage area in Hampshire and Morgan counties in West Virginia this summer.  And, we can now offer, for the first time, wireless broadband Internet service to northwest Shenandoah County!

DSL:

Visual Link Internet now offers DSL Internet service for higher speed phone access.  Please See Our DSL Website

Telecommuting Services and Office Space for Rent:

Visual Link will be making available office space for lease on the upper floor of the Visual Link Building. We currently have over 2800 square feet of extra office space and have decided to put it to a better use than just storage.  We have noticed a need and increased demand for telework or remote offices closer to the employee's home. With companies dealing with the constant rising gasoline prices, it is now far more affordable to set up a remote office location closer to where their employees live.   Each of our offices will of course include a high-speed Internet connection, its own phone number and voice mail services.  We can even provide a local Northern VA or DC phone number if needed and a shared conference room with video conference capabilities.

Office spaces start at $300 dollars per month.  If you work for a privately owned company and commute to northern Virginia, the Virginia government has just made available up to $35,000 in funds to help your employer to start a telework program.   One telework office can accommodate up to three employees on alternate shifts.  The Visual Link building is located next to Sheetz, providing 24-hour access to food and coffee, and is within walking distance of numerous other businesses, many of them operating 24 hours.

So if you commute to Northern Virginia or DC and would like to save the cost of gasoline and commuting time, we can help. Just email telework@visuallink.com or call our office at 540-722-6705.

Visual Link Internet President - Speaker at ISPCON:

President and founder of Visual Link Internet, Mark Bayliss, was one of the speakers at this years ISPCON - the annual ISP and data center convention, held this year in Chicago. Discussing new Internet related technology and methods for ISPs for offer next generation Internet services, Mr Bayliss was the head of the panel that included Richard Jimmerson, CIO, American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN); NTT America's Senior Product Engineer, Charles Sellers ;Yves Poppe, Tata  Communications, and Chris Harz, President, US IPv6 Summit.

WIMAX Broadband License:

Visual Link Internet has received a nationwide license to provide WIMAX Internet from the FCC.  We are excited by this opportunity and look forward to deploying the technology.  This will greatly help us to provide broadband Internet services to locations that are not accessible with our current wireless technology.  We will be setting up and testing WIMAX equipment this summer.  We hope to have more updates on our WIMAX project in June.

Green Power:

Visual Link is powering many of its tower sites with wind and solar power. This is just part of our companies continuing efforts to use more renewable energy.  In the process of our selection of equipment, we have tested a lot of different products and found out what worked and what did not.  One of our favorites is ARI and we are proud to now be a distributor of the ARI Wind and Solar products.

We are now able to provide wind power generators and solar power solutions to our area at affordable prices.  We will also be offering grid tie systems, whereby you can actually sell back any extra power you produce to the power company, helping to reducing your electricity bills.  So if you are thinking about going green, please contact Visual Link Internet.  We will be offering both do-it-yourself and complete installation services of wind and solar power systems.

As always, we thank you for your support and hope you have a wonderful summer!
