| Note: | Open Transport will not work with operating systems prior to 7.5. |
| Special Note: | If you have Macintosh System 7.5.3, you will have Network Software Selector on your hard drive. This utility selects whether or not you wish to use Open Transport or the older MacTCP. You absolutely cannot have both MacTCP and Open Transport in your System Folder at the same time. If you choose to use Open Transport (recommended), the Network Software Selector will make MacTCP invisible. If you choose to use MacTCP, the Open Transport software will be disabled. |
| 1. | Click on the telephone icon in the menu bar. If it doesn't appear in the menu bar, it should be in the control strip at the bottom left of your screen. |
| 2. | Click on the telephone icon in the menu bar to select "Open FreePPP Setup" |
| 3. | Select "Accounts". |

| Tip: | Your username is what comes before @visuallink.com in your email address. Example: The username for support@visuallink.com is support. |
| 5. | Click "Connection" Select a speed for your modem. Please consult the chart for the appropriate speed. |

| 6. | Select "CTS & RTS (DTR) for flow control. In the modem init field you can enter AT&F or AT&F1. (If your modem fails to respond, or you get PPP timeout, try using the other string). You can also find a list of modem init strings at http://www.tidbits.com/iskm/modems.html or http://www.modemhelp.net/stringlist.shtml. |
| 7. | Check to see your modem is turned on first and is hooked up correctly. Restart your Mac, then click on "OpenPPP Connection" in the menu bar. You are now ready to connect to Visual Link. |
