Outlook 2007 Setup

STEP 1: Tell Gmail to enable Outlook 2007 to access your email.

  1. Log in to your mail account at webmail.visuallink.com
  2. Agree to the license agreement if presented with one.
  3. Click Settings at the top of any mail page.
  4. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP in the orange Mail Settings box.
  5. Select Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
  6. Choose the action you'd like your messages to take after they are accessed with POP. We suggest the option to “archive Visual Link Internet Enhanced Mail's copy”.
  7. Click Save Changes.
    Once the changes are saved it may take 10 minutes to an hour for the changes to take effect.
Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in your mail account? To ensure that your account can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click 'Save Changes' on the 'Mail Settings' page.
STEP 2: Setup Outlook 2007 to retreve email.
  1. Open Outlook 2007
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings...
  3. On the E-mail tab, click New...
  4. If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  5. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
    Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages.
    Email Address: Enter your full Gmail email address (username@visuallink.com).
    Password: Enter your email password.
    Manually configure server settings or additional server types: Check this box.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Verify your User Information, and enter the following additional information:

    Server Information

    Account Type: POP3
    Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

    Logon Information

    User Name: Enter your Visual Link email address (including @visuallink.com).
    Password: Enter your email password.
    Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Leave this option unchecked.

  8. Click the More Settings... button, and select the Outgoing Server tab.
  9. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authenticationand select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  10. Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) under Incoming Server (POP3).
  11. In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box enter 587, and select TLS from the drop-down menu next to Use the following type of encrypted connection:.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Test Account Settings... After receiving 'Congratulations! All tests completed successfully', click close.
  14. Click Next, and then click Finish.
Congratulations! Once you have completed all the steps you are done configuring Outlook 2007 to retreve your email.
